Overview
The Sri Yoganand Saraswati Education and Medical Trust (the Trust) is a non-profit organization committed to improving and extending educational and medical services to over 10,000 people living in Talangpur and surrounding areas. The Trust was established in 1996 and has already had a substantial salutary impact on the community. Among its accomplishments, the Trust has organized health camps, provided monetary assistance for those requiring hospitalization and contributed to educational services for the disadvantaged in the community. The Trust has beneficially impacted over 4,000 people through such activities as conducting health and education programs as well as providing funding for surgery, clinical services and medication. In addition, over 800 students benefited by obtaining funding for tuition, books and school uniforms within the last 9 years.
At this point in time, the Trust is embarking on an ambitious plan to extend its services to other important disciplines. These services include those programs and events that will result in the improvement of life development skills, health and hygiene habits, general career development, quality and extent of schooling and several areas of civic services. All of these services are intended to improve social and economical sustainability for the community using education and training culminating in knowledge and social enrichment.
Mission
To provide the general population (regardless of age) of the Greater Talangpur region access to quality education and to provide them with tools to improve their general knowledge, develop life enhancement skills, develop an understanding of critical health issues and ultimately improve the economic viability and sustainability for the region.
