In order to realize this vision, the Desai Family Foundation working with local organizations and supporters strives to develop programs and events in several arenas. These programs center on creating awareness for health issues, promoting Indian arts & culture, and implementing educational initiatives that affect individuals and societies in India and in the US and include.
Indo-Centric Art & Culture Programs
The goal of these activities is to develop and support programs focused on historical and contemporary art and culture, celebrating India’s rich heritage. Programs include showcasing outstanding artistic and cultural activities to create experiences that will transform people’s lives by broadening their perspective, attitude and knowledge about India and the Indian diaspora in America. These programs are primarily held throughout the US.
Community Development Initiatives
These initiatives are aimed at selecting a rural community in Gujarat and providing its members with access to quality education and resources. This access will increase their awareness of the opportunities and information available in the outside world and enable them to enhance their life skills and to improve their understanding of critical health issues. The ultimate goal of these initiatives is to support economic viability and sustainability for these communities.
Information Resource Center
The Desai Family Foundation’s objective is to create a community database of and for Indian Americans willing to participate in the process of India’s social and community development as well as that of enriching the Indian American experience.
Community, Health, and Education Outreach
The goal of these programs is to create greater awareness of a particular community need or health issue and/or support efforts in obtaining good health or quality education.
